LICC Wetland Planting

Saturday November 20th 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lopez Island Conservation Corps will travel to San Juan Island for restoration planting with the San Juan County Land Bank.


The Plan:
We will walk onto the ferry at 9:55 and transportation to the planting site will be provided. Be prepared with a lunch, fluids (hot and cold), rubber boots, and comfortable clothing for the weather. We will spend the day planting willow stakes, and leave Friday Harbor at 4:15 for a 5pm arrival on Lopez.

LICC Fall Beach Clean-up

for a fall beach clean-up!

When: Saturday October 30 10 AM- 2 PM
Where: Meet at Paper Scissors on the Rocks for registration

Bring warm/waterproof clothing and a sack lunch

Come celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day!


Lopez Island Conservation Corps (LICC) is sponsoring an island-wide clean up in collaboration with:


  • San Juan County Land Bank

  • San Juan County Parks

  • Bureau of Land Management

  • Washington State Parks

  • San Juan County Public Works

The garbage dumps and junkyards of the world are filling quickly, with goods that might have been reused, recycled or composted. Action must be taken to reduce the amount of waste we produce.


Join the more than one billion people in 190 countries that are taking action for Earth Day!


What: Island-wide clean up! (Beach and plastics clean up, roadside clean up, park clean up)


When: Saturday, April 17th 2010 9:30am-2:00pm


Where: Meet at Village Park for registration at 9:30am


What to bring:



  • sack lunch & h20

  • working gloves

  • weather/work ready clothing

  • your can-do attitudes!

March Trail Work Party!




Hip, Hip Hooray! Another opportunity to get outside and work on trails! Not too mention rack up some community service hours and we have beach access so let's go have a pic-a-nic on the beach!

What: Trail Maintenance & Brushback
Where: Spencer's Spit State Park
When: March 27, 2010 10am-2pm

What to bring: Layer up! (rain jacket, insulated layer, sweatshirt/hoodie, etc.), sack lunch, water bottle, and your radical attitude!

February/March Trail Work Party!


Alright, so I realize that technically this work party falls within the month of March and not February, but truly it is our end of the month February work party and there shall be another glorious LICC trail work party at the end of March! Yes, you are all so very lucky to get two chances to work on our beautiful island during the month of March, yippee! So let's get down to business:


LICC Trail Work Party


When: March 6, 2010 10am-2pm

Where: Odlin Park

What to bring: Warm clothing (think layers!), waterproof gear (gore-tex, polypropolene, rain boots, rain jackets, etc.), sack lunch, liquids (thermos of hot liquid and H20)


MEET AT ODLIN PARK PARKING AREA @ 10AM!


This work party is a colloborative work party with one of our partners (San Juan County Parks) and we are lucky to have the expertise and knowledge of Jodie Snapp at our fingertips, hooray! So come one, come all and let's do our part for the magical Lopezia!
